Hi Corbett. Welcome to volunteering and the list. (smile) I'm glad you're here. I would second what Mayrie said about handling poor scans. We have a wide range of volunteers with differing standards for scanning. Some volunteers carefully proofread their books before submitting. Those are the easy books to work on as a proofreader. Unfortunately, some people just scan a book and submit it without even looking to see if it scanned well. Others do look at their scans but don't know how to make them better. These are usually new volunteers. It's ok to reject a book if it has a lot of garbled or missing words. It's equally ok to rescan pages if you like doing that and have access to the book.
