But I think we can copy them from the covers or cover flaps from the books themselves -- though when I do that I put them in quotation marks. They're not always concise enough, though. Also, our library system (Los Angeles) has just started putting reviews and annotations (brief summaries) and summaries on the online catalog, above the book title (one has to click on the summary or whatever to open it); the San Diego Public Library has been doing the same. This is a book help, even if one can't quote it exactly (I;m not sure of the rules about that, but to be safe I read them and put the summary in my own words -- but it's easier that trying to figure it out myself from the book, sometimes). The catalogts of both library systems are available for anyone to access, and I'm suure many other public library systems are, too.
