My dear Ann, I too have lots of other obligations. I work full-time, for one thing, plus having to care for the house, the husband, the dogs... I know stuff comes up. But I signed up to do a job, and I make an effort to get it done. Because I know me--it would be real easy to push the book off into the pile of "do someday", and not actually get to it. I know stuff comes up. On the other hand, it's very discouraging as a submitter. I've put a lot of work into making my submission a good one; I've gotten past my obsessive-compulsive proofreading; I've braved the possibility that all my hard work will be thrown out by some PQ replacement that may not actually be as good...and then my poor book languishes. And I go back to proofreading, where at least I can get the satisfaction of a completed project after a few weeks. Not beating up on Reggie; she explained what the problem was, and says she'll finish up my book. I'm just saying in general.
