Jamie, You can submit a kes file and it will need someone with Kurzweil to validate it but eventually it is converted to html as well as braille by Bookshare. Now anyone can work on an rtf file which is why that is preferred but there are enough Kurzweil validators that it should be validated sooner or later. I still have not figured out how to add a pagebreak with Kurzweil unless I do so in the scanning or insert menu. But at least I don't have extra blank pages mulitiplying like rabbits which happens in my wordperfect. a file with 104 mb suddenly has 225 or has become read only. That is why I keep it in Kurzweil and the rtf file; I "open with" Kurzweil. I guess I am not understanding the KES to RTF problem. When you convert to RTF and work on it in Kurzweil it doesn't stay in RTF? I thought the only format a finished product could be submitted for final approval in step 2 was RTF. I didn't know Bookshare would convert them from KES to RTF at the step 2 point. Jamie, Yes, but I can convert it to rtf and still work on it in Kurzweil. Jamie in Michigan Currently Reading - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K.
