Hi, Jim. Bookshare does accept files in Kes format. Though rtf is
preferred because most of us can open those, you can submit in Kes,
Ark, and Wyn formats. Books that are submitted as rtf files
generally are approved faster, though Kes files can be processed by
a fairly large number of validaters. Those who submit in Ark format
generally wait quite a long time, a year or more. Those who submit
in Wyn format wait... and wait... and wait... for 3 years one book
lingered on step 1 because no one else could open it. There are
currently 2 books on step 1 I'd validate if they weren't in wyn
format. Since they are, they'll probably be there for a very long
time. So while one can submit books in various ways, there are wait
times that increase in porportion to the obscurity and proprietary
nature of the format.
