I think this is only true in the spell-check but not in the rank spelling.
And they do have a hot key in the spell-check dialog. Alt-s to spell the
word, and alt-x to read context, alt-i to ignore, alt-l to skip all, alt-r
to replace, etcetera.

Hi, Shelley!  In the ranked spelling dialog, you can tab down to the option
to spell a word and press Enter.  They really should include a hot key for
this.
