Gary,
I do feel that the company should try to be at least professional.
I did not deserve the treatment I recieved.

I do agree the product is a good one but the tech support seems to only have one person and he is inferior and rude.

The opticbook 3600 scanner by Plustec is definitely a good product but I do not feel it is right for a company to not stand behind their product.

You would not receive the same treatment I did since your a man and this particular tech support person George at Plustech seems to enjoy intimadating and being rude to women.
I have written and called and only seem to get this same employee.

I was just letting others know about this because I do take in account tech support and customer service when purchasing a product.

I would also look at type of books to scan, quality of scanner, speed of scanner and so on.

Just my opinion,

Laura Ann

Well, to each his own! It would be one thing if they had a staff, and you just happened to get a bad customer-service rep once in a while. Anyway, who we do business with and for what reasons is definitely a mater of preference... I'm entitled to my opinion! <Smile>

Well, I don't know of too many people who had tech support problems with the Plustek OpticBook 3600. After that, however, I'd use whatever's current in the Epson Perfection line or check the refurb stock. Btw, if rudeness by any particular employee is going to be a reason never to do business with a manufacturer, we might as well go back to stone tablets. <grin>

Hi, everyone! Looks like my scanner has died. I've been using an Epson Perfection 1660, and K1000 keeps saying that every page I scan is blank. I've tried several books with it, and I'm not seeing the light come on after the scan is done. Can anyone recommend a good replacement? Do the Epsons still work pretty well? If Laura Ann hadn't had so many horror stories with their tech support, I would consider the OpticBook. However, I have no intention of supporting a company with rude tech people... I deal with enough rudeness in my ministry work!! <LOL> Thanks!!
