The more you do to your scan to make it meet the Bookshare standards found in
the proofreading manual, the more likely it is that your book will get
proofread.
I don't view the proofreading manual as laying out what the proofreader is
supposed to do to the book. Instead, it's what the proofreader needs to verify
that the book has, and fix if it hasn't been done, if that distinction makes a
difference. If the scanner hasn't done those things, the proofreader makes sure
they get done.
Most of the volunteers who scan books for Bookshare are blind. You'll find a
wealth of knowledge from them here on the discussion list if, for example, you
need help with settings with your particular software to improve scans. I'm
sighted, but I've learned how to get great quality scans from the blind
volunteers here who tackle tricky books to scan I would never even dream of
trying to get to scan! smile.

the "exact view" image available to them. Is this correct? How does

work?
