Rose, over An hour is way too long. I just didn't know how long a long
time was when you first wrote about the problem. I do have to say that the
bookshare site often seems to be the end controlling the speed of uploads
and downloads. I suspect that is worse in the evening, though, because
that is a busy time. Sunday morning should be fine, so you obviously do
have a problem. I second Cindy's suggestion of sending the book to Gustavo
as a zipped attachment in a few days. Just explain why you are doing it
and enclude the full title and author's name in your E-mail. Hopefully
that will work.
Jake, I agree with what you said, but remember that Rose's upload is
probably 5 times the size of the files you usually upload, and large files
are often more difficult to upload to bookshare. :-) I believe I have
waited over 20 minutes for an upload a few times. My connection was
probably only 128 KBPS, though, and I may have been uploading at a busy
time.
The upload form has been down without the rest of the site, and it has also
appeared to act up on and off for a while at times in the past. Who knows
what the real cause was, though.
