When I'm validating, I delete blank pages before the page numbering starts. If there's a blank page before the first chapter that counts as page 2, for example. I would leave that in with the page number. I didn't reply to the question about deleting blank pages because I don't have Kurzweill, but I don't know of any way with word to do it other than as one comes across them. I've validated several books that have had a lot of blank pages and they were caused by some glitch in K, but that was a while ago. I think they were books Shelley had scanned and she found out from the Kurzweill company what caused it and the problem was solved.--I think....
