Hi Mike, It is not a problem to convert em dashes to two hyphens if folks still want to do that. That is what the tools turn them into anyway, but they don't choke if it's been done for them. I too am one of those who converts em dashes to two hyphens still as when I proofread using Kurzweil 1000 the reading is more accurate as far as pausing is concerned when the conversion has been made. In short, it's fine either way to leave em dashes as they are, or to change them to two hyphens. We just don't need to convert em dashes any more as the tools, I am happy to say, handle them very well and consistently.
