Dear Jim,

I like a fair portion of poetry. I haven't solved the dilemma of preserving all of the formatting, but by putting hard returns at the ends of the lines, the line lengths can be preserved. Then the trusty asterisk is a good verse separator.

In general I enjoy poetry that isn't too abstract or bitter. If there's any of that kind on Bookshare, I'd enjoy getting the rtf file from Bookshare and formatting it for you, and for poetry lovers in general.

My mind doesn't absorb poetry read on tape, and to slow the speed would make it sound ludicrous. When I read it in braille, I can stroll through it, stopping when I want to give myself time to understand and react or just to oo and ahh at the beauty of the language.

Always with love,

lissi

Hi,
I am most disappointed that when someone submits poetry, no matter how good
of a job they do to get it correct, the software mangles it. Formatting is
important with poetry. That's why I read poetry from Web braille. And I'm
sad that we have so many mangled poetry books on Bookshare.
