Of course there are blank lines within a story that indicate passage of time or a change of scene. That is where we are supposed to put the asterisks to preserve what is indicated by the blank lines. I don't understand your use of the word but. That implies that this contradicts something. What do you mean by that?

It strikes me that this list does a lot of needless thrashing and that our time would be better spent either contacting BS staff or just dealing with the production requirements.----- Original Message ----- From: "Roger Loran Bailey" <rogerbailey81@xxxxxxx>To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2012 10:02 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: was Navigation what do members prefer? If the asterisks are at the beginning of a chapter I don't see how they interrupt the flow of the book. That is already interrupted by the beginning of a chapter. Nevertheless, if there is a chapter heading to alert me that a new chapter is starting I can't say that I need the asterisks too.On 11/20/2012 9:57 PM, Regina Alvarado wrote:Correct Cindy, though there would be no blank line between them. If I were listening to the book, the asterisks would drive me crazy since it would say "star star star" and would mess up the flow of the book. Seems in that casewwe should put in 16-point the chapter name/number and then enter andcontinue with the book without a blank line. In Braille on a refreshable Braille device (BrailleNote, PacMate, BrailleSense, etc.) the 3 asterisks would be a line so one would have to bypass them with a flick of the whiz wheels/thumb keys/ etc. which just means more movement for the hands and wrists. Still think the asterisks should just be taken out with a 16-pointtitle for the sighted folks and no blank line so the text would be justunder the title name. Just my opinion and will do as instructed at least after the current book I am proofing since I am halfway through but stopped due to editing my second book for my 2 authors. Thanks for that info, Reggie; That's interesting; so it would be as if the body text is a new paragraph vis-a-vis the chaper title.
