Once in Germany I was asked to represent a son who was schizophrenic.
As soon as I entered the field I became fascinated with the ceiling
and began turning slowly in circles gazing up at the ceiling lights.
In that case there was no clear sense of why I was turning in circles,
but I remember the very altered state. It felt a bit like being
suspended on a string and gently turning in the air.
That said, I would caution against being too quick to say what
anything is an indication of. I have personally seen turning to be an
indication of the client not being able to choose between parents; an
unsettled relationship in a previous generation represented in the
current generation; "looking for a way out"; and in the case of
insanity in the field. However, our best clue is to tune into the
field, ask the representatives, watch the observers. The clues are in
the field.

I have a question about what it means in a constellation when someone is
slowly turning around and around as if looking in all directions? Someone
once said that it is an indication of a perpetrator and if that is so, can
someone explain it to me? For instance, does it mean that person is
representing a perpetrator or is looking for one? Also, what is an
appropriate response? I have had this show up in three separate cases
recently and though I was able to reach resolution, I find myself feeling
uneasy that I might be missing something important.
