If I am being politically correct and offering my understanding of "what
is" in my knowing, I would say that it is possible Anni that through the
communication something slipped. Yes indeed the group I am referring to in
my discussion is predominantly from the natives of this land, majority
being of the so called "black" community and others from mixed races. It
gets blurred for me to explain the mix in races and the issues thereof that
arise. I am approached by women students, single mothers, whose children
are with their grandmothers but they are seen as ones who are responsible
for the children as the men left them..these are the predominant group I
have worked with so far in one on one capacity. Very few cases have I
worked with men, also 'black' men.
I find what has been shared by Eimear and Denis profound to me, as I had
not taken my scope that far where I am now projecting my thinking. In my
body though I feel a sickening and a sense of feeling weak to think about
the enormity of the complexities. I however am encouraged with taking into
account the 'representatives' suggested. In another development, the land
on which this college is situated is 'borrowed/connected' from a
conglomerate referred to "Old Mutual" and the building in which the classes
are taking place. The name of the college/university when translated in
local native language it translates as 'jump'.
The issues I have worked on in the one on one are that of 'introducing" the
client (female students) to their ancestry some of whom they hold anger
towards. I would like to step this up into group work with a bigger group
of the students and perhaps with the consent of the university. The few I
have worked with have done well in what appeared/percieved by the student
to be a difficult exam before the constellation or energy release exercises.

I wonder if I missed something. Some of the replies here seem to have an
inference that this is a black population that Lawrence asked about. I have
re-read Lawrence's posts and do not see that as a reference. Certainly non
of my posts regarding education had a specific group of people in mind. Did
I miss something here? If not, is there a high loyalty in our group to the
idea that specific oppressed cultures are the ones who suffer from
difficulty in success in math? Interesting to contemplate the posts
regarding this topic.
