It was I who opened Lawrence's question to a possible racial issue, you
have missed nothing. I acknowledge I went outside the boundaries of his
question.
I know Lawrence, I have worked with numerous people in South Africa around
'absent' father issues and I see the enormity of the single parent problem.
Yet I don't believe I consciously considered any of that in my response
nor did I hold myself to the "Maths" issue.
From the time I first read his posting I had been really confronted by the
subject as I saw it. Not sure if confronted is the correct word.....what I
mean is it was in my body and mind and I could not ignore it nor let it go.
It was like a dark cloud around my heart, a heavy weight in my gut. So I
spoke to it and having done so I can and have let it go.
