Interesting topic of discussion. I remember when the work was originally
referred to in England (not sure about the rest of the UK and Ireland or the
USA at that time) as Touching Love, The Order of Love, The Orders of Love
and for a while all these terms co-existed. It seems that Constellations was
a word which appeared later and simply 'caught on' in the English-speaking
world. I also recall that the term: The Order of Love was stopped because
people felt it sounded too much like a cult. Also, the word ' order' in
English has other meanings. So I don't know that a conscious decision was
ever made to stick with this word, but more that it gradually evolved, but
others may remember it differently. As to originated the word, I can't
answer.
Best wishes

Hi all
This may be a piece of the jigsaw. So far as I can tell, the term has been
used in psychoanalytic theory for at least 60-70 years, both for internal
configuration of object relations and outer configurations of the family
system. That may be another reason it was adopted.
