force, moving into a resolution that will help change the client's perceptions
so that they can "see" the soul that is within them and fully accept that they
are worthy to house such an energy.
As well as this change in the client's perception, I believe the release of
entanglements actually allows the life force of the greater soul to flow
through the family and the individual unimpeded. So my hypothesis is that
ultimately the healing of constellations is more direct and concrete than just
a change in perception of the individual. Facts that support this hypothesis
are:
a.. Representatives so accurately represent the attitudes and feelings of the
people they represent, despite having almost no information about them.
b.. Changes seem to occur spontaneously in members of the family not present
at the workshop. These changes are almost impossible to explain solely as a
result of a change in the client's perception.
c.. It is extremely difficult to reproduce these changes just by changing a
client's perception without doing constellation
This hypothesis has serious implications:
a.. Constellations plug in at a different systemic level than normal
individual psychotherapy ( or indeed normal group work)
b.. We are not as individually independent as we like to imagine
c.. People who are not thriving due to entanglements in their system have no
control over this.
d.. This bowing to fate is an anathema to the cult of individualism which
predominates in the West especially in psychotherapeutic circles. However it
allows us to be much more humble and compassionate.
So Sandra I agree with you that a client becomes more receptive to the soul or
life energy (especially as it comes through their parents) as a result of a
constellation. Nonetheless there is much more going on.

I've just woken up and have had only one cup of coffee, please bare with me.
I have a question...is there a separation between "The larger soul" that
connects us all and the "individual soul"? In reading the posts, what comes to
me is that if there is no difference between the "larger" all -connecting soul
and the "individual" finger of that soul that can be housed within each human,
then the woundedness that separates a person from their soul would be within
the human. So it makes sense to me that healing the human would allow that
person to "feel" the connection with his/her soul. I'm not so sure that the
soul leaves the human. It's more like something has happened in that person's
system that wouldn't allow them to "feel" the connection to this great force
that lives within them. From personal experience, I've come to recognize that
our divine natures (our souls) are always within us, it is us that have to
learn to see it and connect with it most importantly accepting the fact that we
deserve something so amazing.

Just a thought on a rainy Saturday. I have begun to read the book on

last few days on CT about the relationship of the soul to the person, I wonder
how they stood together.
For example, I remember a constellation at Zist where there was a
representative for 'life'. The representative of the person tried to embrace
life and life said ' no, I embrace you' and proceeded to do just that.

At the moment I am reading an excellent book called "blink" by
Malcolm Gladwell about the power of thinking without thinking. It is a summary
of stories and scientific research on how people have sudden insights and how
they access it. Mostly it is by having access to a level that is just below
consciousness and trusting it. But there are rules and consistencies to this,
which are explored in this book. I am totally fascinated by this book, because
I feel that is the level where constellations work. They can be used to help
people access this level more consciously. And I also feel that I can talk to
people who are new to constellations much easier using this concept than a
metaphor of the 'greater soul'. Almost everybody can remember a decision they
made in an instant or something they knew without being able to explain why.
Personally I prefer the concept that we have a, not always conscious,
inner image, that can be accessed through constellations to the one of a soul
and greater soul.
