Chris's caution about psychosomatics reminds me of a joke that circulated at
the height of that craze. At the end of Mass, a parishioner approaches the
Priest and asks, "Tell me Father, what causes arthritis?" "The Priest
responds, "Arthritis? I'll tell you what causes arthritis. Drinking!
Gambling! Running around with women! That's what causes arthritis....Why do
you ask?" "Oh, I don't know Father. It says in the paper the Pope has
arthritis."
Maria, to your two parts, I suggest adding a third, the healing container.
The presence of the dead among the living often has the energy of a vacuum,
sucking loved ones into the whirlpool of entropy. The pain of living and the
inevitability of dying makes getting things over with an appealing option,
especially in the face of a grim diagnosis. A Constellation often has the
effect of switching the direction of the wind. Instead of feeling sucked
towards death, the presence of loving, adoring ancestors creates a sweet
breeze propelling the client towards the horizon of a long, healthy life.
To my understanding, this is more than a trick of the imagination. The
ancestors have presence within and surrounding us. In Chinese medicine they
are an essential and very real element of Qi. From my own client case
histories, re-establishing a healthy relationship with one's ancestors
supports a healing container in which medical treatments and healing
practices can gain strength and efficacy.

Dear Michael,
A diagnosis/symptom consist of two parts: the physical one (breatscancer)
and the trigger (maybe genetic, environmental). The trigger can be
influenced by some energetic, entangled background. Constellations look at
this background. When the background, the reason why a certain symptom
appears, is not solved, the symptom (breastcancer) continues. Constellations
may solve the reason (background) and make the reason of symptom appearing
in the future unnecessary.
I think you know all this, but is it important to put constellations in the
right perspective of possible methods to support healing and prevention of
breast cancer.

Thanks for your posts.
Maria, perhaps I should have explained more. I have to sit at a table
in March at an exposition on "alternative methods for healing and
preventing breast cancer." I'm trying to augment my experience as much
as possible for the purpose of being able to talk to people at the
exposition. It's not for the purpose of facilitating actual
constellations.
I agree with your statement, in effect, that "any symptom can relate
to anything." On the other hand, it's not helpful to say that in a US
context where constellation work is largely unknown.
What I would like to be able to say to people is something like "while
it may or may not relate to your own or your loved one's situation,
our community has seen cases where such and such was involved, or at
other times, this or that."
I hope that clarifies the query further.
