Hi Orin,
There are various ways to look at what is called "the field." In this
book
Oschman, James L. Energy Medicine: the Scientific Basis. Edinburgh:
Churchill Livingstone, 2000.
the author makes a solid scientific case for the fact that the human
body is organized by electromagnetic fields that can be measured out
to 12 feet away. From this perspective, there are probably a lot of
local resonances between representatives standing in constellations.
This is not to say that there are not subtler energies, but only
rather to point out that a lot might be going on that needs no
revisions of physics to start understanding.
Another good book
McTaggart, Lynne. The Field: the Quest for the Secret Force of the
Universe. New York, NY: HarperCollins, 2008.
tells a grounded and reasonable story of the progress many researchers
are making looking at subtler aspects. Many of these come take off
from the often strange findings of quantum physics.
Many people think of Sheldrake in this area, and you can read his
books on "morphogenetic fields." But he's also done other work in
Sheldrake, Rupert. Dogs That Know When Their Owners Are Coming Home:
and Other Unexplained Powers of Animals. New York: Crown,
1999.Sheldrake, Rupert. The Sense of Being Stared At: and Other
Aspects of the Extended Mind. New York: Crown Publishers, 2003.
Then, moving towards the very "subtle" end, and chakra theory,
Brennen's books are central--and there are many others
Brennan, Barbara Ann. Hands of Light: Study of the Human Energy Field.
Transworld Pub., 1990. Print.
Brennan, Barbara Ann., Thomas J. Schneider, and Joan Tartaglia. Light
Emerging: the Journey of Personal Healing. New York [etc.: Bantam,
1993. Print.
What is the field? My own take is that it is both a local interaction
between human body-minds, as well as a deeper connection to a
collective reality based on some kind of primal consciousness. This
collective reality does not sort out in terms of time and space the
same way as our local interactions do. Have fun reading... :-)
Best,
Michael

What is The Constellation Call?

Hello Constellation Talk.
I'm new to constellation work and am currently attending a facilitator
training with Franchesca Mason Boring in Seattle USA. The presence
of the
field greatly interests me, and I'd like to know more about it and
what
people know about it, as well as other names that people who are not
well
versed in new age terminology might call it. If anyone has any book
references or a deeper understanding of what inhibits and what
enhances the
presence and the flow of the field I'd like to hear about it. I've
heard it
connected to terms like Zero point field and morphogenic field. If
you have
specifics on scientific experiments that are able to measure the
field I'd
love to know about them too.
Also, Constellation Work is part of my College *Independent Learning
Contract* at the Evergreen State College in Olympia Washington. I
want to
demonstrate the power of the field to my class at the end of the
semester.
Does any one know any simple constellation exercises that can
demonstrate
the presence of the field to the skeptic, and show how it can help a
willing
representative 'know' things that are true.
Thanks,
Orin Hardy
