Thank you for your stories and comments on respect and cultural differences.
Having lived most of my adult life in and with different cultures I have
seen a multitude of responses to me. Non acceptance can be very subtle and
is usually non-conscious, which I experienced particularly growing up in
Switzerland with a Dutch mother. No matter how hard I tried, I could never
fit in.
Group conscience happens everywhere, no matter how aware we are. Even in
constellation groups where we work systemically there is an unspoken code.
For example "honouring what comes before" is so powerful and freeing. It can
release so much energy when it is offered from the heart and in the right
moment. On the other hand it can also become a power game when it is
demanded as a rule in a group, even if it is completely justifiable.
I have been following with interest the recent threads on the function of CT
and how to moderate the group. While I fully acknowledge the hard work Chris
puts into this I am also aware that CT is his group and that it gives him
power and a competitive edge. I also acknowledge this.
And I am aware that I can leave the group any time. I am still here, I value
what I am learning here from many of your contributions. Sometimes I would
like to also give something back. It usually stays in my head.
The addition of more moderating rules makes me feel even more uncomfortable.
Having been chastised in the past for something I well meaningly
contributed, makes me cautious and has held me back on writing to the group
in the last couple of years.
