Thank you for listing the important reference points for the layman
facilitator. I'm a layman facilitator, have been hiding behind your group to
learn from your postings. I want to take this oppertunity to thank those that
I'm not able to address now.
I'm glad that I have been observing and practising Pt. 1 to 6. And I'll go to
take a First Aid Course and arrange backup from Psychiatric Professionals NOW.
I remember Bert said opening in a conference in China, everyone can facilitate
Systemic Constellation. And I also remember Gunthard Weber's teaching
"Whenever Bert Hellinger's words become rules, I break it!". Both are
important rules for me.
Chris, you probably have more to share for the layman facilitator group. Can
you advise?

responsibly. It sounds like you are getting some sort of training. Regardless
of professional qualifications I believe a number of things help us to become
safer and better practitioners. Some of these are listed below:
Lots of ongoing exposure to the work with plenty of experience as a
representative.
Exposure to a number of different experienced practitioners, so our
understanding and practice is not limited to one person's individual
interpretation of the work.
Participation in peer supervision.

Reflecting on how Constellation theory applies to everyday life, characters

You want to have some idea if a representative is having a heart attack or a
simple reaction to their role. We need to know how to differentiate and how to
manage basic physical crises. So if you are not a nurse or a doctor first aid
training is advisable.
Have backup from more qualified people when you run a workshop. It may be
useful to have a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse who is available over the
phone if necessary.

Thank you all for your candor concerning non-psychologists who are
drawn to this work; as am I. A psychologist with whom I trained
constellations told me that anyone can do this work, but itappears
some opinions on this matter may be less restrictive than others.I
have my first "presentation" (not yet a workshop) in 2 weeks andmy
concern is that I have not the professional (therapeutic) trainingexperience
of others, i.e., psychologists/therapists.
However, I am encouraged by the idea that destiny leads us to do
what we will, and I simply can't set this work aside without
attempting to find my place. I have had preliminary training in
Boston but not to any comparative extent with the qualifications
listed among other professionals. I devour reading materials and
all that I can find on the net. I also believe that life
and desire play their part so I am, as I said, encouraged.for
Could you say something, or direct me to links, which address
responsibility and liability toward providing a safe atmosphere
clients? I have derived so much wisdom from Bertold Ulsamer onthis
topic, and I'm certain many of you have valuable input as well.It
certainly relieves me to know this work will find its ownmy
resolution, but I want to be prepared and responsible insofar as
contribution to that end.Bert
Finally, I read on the posting site a section which referred to
Hellinger stating that if this work stays in the medical field, it
will die. Do you know where I may find further writing on this
issue? I would appreciate any direction and reinforcements at this
very early stage.
