HI Dan,

Yes I did send the report, I haven't installed any new software/drivers either.

Here's what the report said:

Hard disk drive error detected

Thank you for submitting an error report.

Problem description

Windows was temporarily unable to read your hard disk drive. This problem is
general in nature and unfortunately we are unable to determine the specific
cause of the read error from the error report. In most cases this problem is
temporary and can be ignored; however, if the problem is occurring repeatedly
we recommend you follow the additional troubleshooting steps in this article.

I've done the general steps it recommended, but still getting dropouts.

Sure is frustrating!

Did windows bring up the error reporting dialogue? If so did you send the
report and what did it say?

Also, have you made any changes like installing new drivers or software?

    Subject: [ddots-l] Dropout's

I've been using Sonar/Cakewalking for about a year, and for no known
reason, I have all of the sudden developed dropout's.

The tune it is happening in includes one audio track, and a midi one,
nothing else. I have worked in Sonar with many audio tracks/MIDI, and have had
no drop outs... I really can't figure out what's wrong, and why it just started
happening... yesterday afternoon everything was working fine, since then, now
I've had several crashes, and the computer seems sluggish.

I've ran chk dsk, defrag, and anti-virus... not sure what else to do.

Using JFW 7.0, and a 2.6GHZ HP ZD Pavilian notebook, with 1GB RAM, and an
Ederal UA 25 for the MIDI/audio into Sonar.

Two of the crashes have caused the serious crash message to appear in
Windows after restarting, so I hope it's not that, but I was hoping someone out
there could offer some thoughts on this problem... I just can't understand how
everything could be working perfectly one day, and not the next...
anyone else had anything like this happen?
