To reset the MIDI, press Control Shift and function key F8. To reset the
faders and the rest of the board, press control Shift F10. BTW, if you
purchased that unit new then, I guarantee that it won't be running the
latest firmware as they never ship those units with the latest firmware.

Hmmmm....Phil, I'm not sure. It's the same that came with it brand new two
years ago. I will check.

My wife saw the song playing on the DAW screen last night, but there were no
stereo meter lights moving on the FW 1884 to indicate the output signal's
volume. Of course I couldn't tell her if that these meters exist or not ont
he FW 1884 cause I've never seen them.

Hey, Phil, would you also tell me again about resetting the MIDI and unity
gain? Is it Control F8 and F10 or is it Control+Shift F8 and F10. I've
done both but I want to be sure. Thanks.

Which firmware are you running on the FW-1884?

Hey, guys, thanks for the advice. I don't know if I was clear or not, but I
didn't just install the FW 1884 and Sonar. I've had this same system now
for almost two years. As far as enabling or changing a checkbox somewhere,
I know I didn't do that in my last session because everything worked fine.
Unless, of course, I accidentally did something in closing out and shutting
down. Also, recall that I was the one with the Video Intercept problem that
was fixed simply by plugging up a new monitor. My DAW is possessed I
believe! The down arrow and the letter r didn't work my last couple of
sessions, so I knew it was time to replace the battery in my keyboard.
Well, last night after going into the Note Pad Caketalk Tutorial, the two
keys started working again properly and began working again in Sonar. So,
I'm sure it's a little thing that has happened, but I don't know where to
begin, and I'm not a techee. I will look under the Options menu for Audio
and look at that and also check out the drivers. I must admit I really
don't know what I'm looking for, so wish me luck. Hey, if the sound is
getting "to" the FW 1884 from Sonar, then shouldn't there be meter lights
flashing up and down to the master volume? So if there are lights, then the
problem would be in the FW 1884, right? And if no lights are indicating
volume during playback of a song, then the problem could be in Sonar. I
will have to get some eyes to check this out. Okay, guys, thanks.
Does anybody else have any suggestions? SLB

Are you sure you've enabled the relevant input/output drivers, both in the
FW's ctrl panel & Sonar?

Lastly, check you've got the volume up on the FW, sounds kinda dozy, but
I've done it after multiple driver re-installs, when one might become a tad
confused/pissed off?

Hi, guys. Any advice would be appreciated. The FW 1884 didn't respond
after loading Sonar 7, so I went to Options and checked on its input and
ouput port settings. The FW 1884 Control nor its MIDI ports were listed.
So I shut the system down, reset the MIDI and unity gain on the FW 1884, and
rebooted. I found the FW 1884 Control now as a selection and selected them.
The faders began working, but I still have no audio. When playing a song in
Sonar, the meters are stating a peak, so I know it is playing. I also
tapped the end of my monitor amp's cables to hear the sound in the spekaers,
so I know the amp is working. I don't know if this is a Sonar deal or a
Tascam FW 1884 deal. How do I determine where the signal breakdown is?
Thanks in advance.
