Hi Steve.

Interesting and valid points.

I wasn't actually sure what I wanted to do with the sax at the time.
Actually that isn't true. I wanted to give it a double tracked sound
similar to David Samborne.

I just went a bit over the top I think.

If the sax had been for one of my electronic pieces, I'd have probably kept
it as it was

But, the piece was very much experementing with creating pretty standard
library or TV project music, which I understand there's a lot of cash to be
made if you can get into the right places.

A lot of it is personal taste, for example, Phil said he wasn't keen on the
chorused piano lead, whereas, I quite like it.

Nothing wrong with Phil's view, but there's nothing wrong with mine either.

Adding the chorus doesn't ruin the track, taking it away wouldn't either.

Once again folks, I really appreciate the feedback and you taking the time
to listen and comment.

Cheers
Darren

Hi Darren,

the problem with asking people who mix tracks, We'll all have different
ideas on what is or isn't needed.
A good example is no one seemed to like the chorus on the sax but you must
have liked it in the first place to have chosen to put it on.
I too thought the chorus added something positive to quite a dull sounding
sax, (the chorus may have been a little too heavy for my liking)? there I go
advising.

I personally think you need to ask yourself:
Do you want a track that so generic that it is beautiful like the other
stars in the sky so gets lost in the vastness of the Universe? or do you
want a track that shine so bright, everyone looks up at that star.

Purple Rain, did it need a bass guitar?

We all are given amazing helpful tips that make our projects sound better,
however, there comes a point where you must decide it's finished. it's taken
me years to be able to say that with conviction, as you know, I was the
Worlds worst for going back to projects.

Hi Phil.

Thanks for taking a listen.

I think I'm going to leave it alone for a couple of weeks or I'll get fed up
of hearing it.

When I can hear it with fresh ears, I can see what I think needs changing.

Thanks again, appreciate it.

Cheers

Darren. That's way better! A couple of thoughts. Not personally keen on
the slight chorus on the acoustic guitar at the start of the track. Also
not keen on the chorus on the piano solo track but hay, that's just me.
Could hear chorus on a rohds that is, if you ended up using one of those
instead. Am a bit of a purist when it comes to such things. Great job
though!

Hi folks.

Well after your great feedback, I took this whole track back to basics.

I kind of got carried away the first time round, so I've stripped down the
track and I think it sounds much better for it. Much more breathing
space...

Feedback as ever is always appreciated.
