Hey Greg, nice one, I'll definitely check this procedure out. Thanks for sharing it, best Steve.

Ok Steve here is what I do. Do a jaws ocr and go up until you hear
activate update overview then do a left click on overview so now all of the
products are shown so do another ocr and go down until you hear the one that
isn't activated then their is a show details for each one so left click that
button then go down until you hear jaws say serial no edit then move the
jaws curser on the edit field and left click it and your ready to paste in
the serial number then do another ocr and you will hear the serial number
beeing read when you go down and their is an ok button so left click that
button then do one more jaws ocr and go back to the activate update overview
we want to click the activate then do another jaws ocr and the activate
button will be at the bottom left click it. I know it sounds like a lot but
that works for me. I have the service center set to auttolog me in on start
up. I had my cousin in law help me with that part. I think an hsc set
would be very helpful.

Greg, what's your way of accessing the Service Centre without sighted assistance?...sounds intriguing? Best Steve.

Hey thanks for the info I only tried it for the ocr feature for the native
instruments service center. I figured out a way for us to activate ni
products with it and without an hsc set or sighted help.

Greg,

Not sure if you're running CT 8.8 or earlier but according to the
info I have it will not work with Jaws 17.

Hey Phil I got everything on my external and my laptop is working perfectly
now. I think what happened was when I installed jaws 17 to try out it
messed things up. I'm glad I got it back working again with jaws 14. Thats
a lot of money for getting a hard drive recovered and I sure don't want to
have to do that.

Run triple backups here now. Had one hard drive go then, another quickly
after that. Ended up spending over £600.00 to get the data recovered.
Don't want to do that again!

I have everything on my external drive. I'd better put my Sonar mixes and
Sonar projects folders as well. Thanks for the tip.

Back up absolutely everything as if your life depended upon it. It
probably does more than you realize. Be prepared for the idea that that
drive may die again never to return. That will probably come sooner than
later. Essentially, you have been given a gift.

Hey guys I managed to get my laptop back up and running. I hit enter
