It is not a sampled based synth like dimension pro. It is a wave table synth, which uses tiny slices of wave forms as the foundation for the sounds and then applies filters, envelopes, modulators etc. It is really apples and oranges as far as comparing them goes.

How is it different from dimension pro? What are the sounds like? Does it have as large of a sound library as Dimension pro? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tim Burgess" <tim@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, August 29, 2007 7:02 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Installation questionsHi, Rapture is a very powerful synth, but isn't very accessible directly from its user interface (although a lot of parameters can be controlled via automation/remote control). I've got some very basic HSC files, but they're far from complete. I'll pass them on to www.hotspotclicker.org when they're more complete and let the list know. Best wishes. Hey do I have this rapturesoftware bundled with sonar 6, or would I have to get that later? Has anyonetried it? Is it easy to use? Are there good sounds to be played with? http://www.gbrayton.com----- Original Message ----- From: Gordon Kent <mailto:dbmusic@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, August 29, 2007 1:15 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Installation questions When is it asking you to register plug-ins? I've never seen that particular prompt. Do you mean scan plug-ins? I mean am I registering the sonarpluggins? Sorry it takes me so long to get it buddy. http://www.gbrayton.com----- Original Message ----- From: Gordon Kent <mailto:dbmusic@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 11:29 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Installation questions Well, each version of Sonar is coming bundled withmore and more plug-ins. It is really getting to the point where you can get by with Sonar alone. The vc64 is a wonderful multi-band compressor/channelstrip. It would be nice if the tts1 were updated with some really good sounds on a par with say the motif, but I wouldn't fret too much about getting more stuff except for maybe a better time compression plug if you needed that sort of thing. I have soft synths but those aren't plugg ins right? I have all the stuff that comes with sonar, but I can't think of anything else I've picked up. Do those sonar pluggins need to be registered? I don't own anything like the wavearts, or any other compressers or choruses that don't come with sonar. Since that is the case do I still let it do that or is it not necessary. Maybe I should have some other plugg ins. Maybe you can tell me what I shou;ld tryto get. I should say try to afford. http://www.gbrayton.com----- Original Message ----- From: Gordon Kent<mailto:dbmusic@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, August 27, 2007 11:52 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Installation questions Greg: When cakewalk is asking you if youwant to register your plug-ins, it isn't talking about registering them withthe companies that make them. It is referring to the process of tellingSonar that you have these plug-ins and where they are on your system. You should let it do that. You need to have sonar on your system before you can install cake talking. It doesn't matter if you install plug-ins afterwards.Gord ----- Original Message ----- From: Greg Brayton <mailto:greg@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, August 25, 2007 7:52 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Installation questions Last time i installed sonar, I didn't have any soft synths, http://www.gbrayton.comso when it asked me to register plugg ins, I just said no.; Now I have, dimension, stinberg hypersonic, lounge lizard, and trilogy.
