Maree,

If you're in the dialog for adding files to an audio CD then you need to finish
adding and press OK or Finished to return to the main Nero screen. Then you
should find various checkboxes and lists. The list is your list of files. Also
on that page is a checkbox for normalize and another checkbox for leaving a
2-second gap between tracks. If you don't have those, then you're not in the
right dialog.

This is the dialog with the properties button after you have selected all the
tracks in the list. Takes a bit of groping around but it does work.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Dave

  Hi guys,

Thanks for all your ideas. Dave, I couldn't find the Properties Button nor
the 'Normalize All' check box after I selected the tracks from the list. Is
this where you would find the "Normalize All" check box?
Is there a default setting for sndvol32 or am I completely on the wrong track
there?

Neville, I am actually quite happily using Nero Version 6 and I use CD
Burning Rom as I believe this is more accessible for JAWS users, not Nero Start
Smart. With the help of my Dancing Dots friends and a manual written for blind
users I am able to do what I can do which is
  1. Rip a whole CD.
  2. Compile a CD.
  3. Add tracks from a CD onto my hard drive.
I'm sure you folks know plenty more than this, and Phil, I will have to get
set up for skipe if I want to catch up.

Cameron, it's good to know that there's another usable alternative to Nero 6
if necessary.

Getting back to my "quiet vocals and solos" issue, I also tried a different
Audio CD to see if this could possibly make a difference, but I don't think so.
Maybe I'm going crazy, like trying to see the difference between dark blue and
dark purple which is the only analogy I can think of in this case.
you see guys, I'm such a non-tech savvy person. Would the speed of
40x6000kbs make any difference to 32x6000? This is my progress so far.
  Thanks for your responses.
  Marée
