I just picked up a Yamaha w24, and I had told the list I'd get back to them about its accessibility. It's not very accessible. It would be hard to memorize the menus because the cursor rolls and doesn't stop at the top or bottom of a list. So stay away from that one. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin L Gibbs" <kevjazz@xxxxxx>

Subject: [ddots-l] Need recommendations on good accessible field recorder

guys,
One month ago, I was walking through an intersection when I was struck by a car. I survived that but, unfortunately, in the ensuing hassle, I managed to forget my briefcase which held, among other things, my Edirol R09 recorder.

I was never really happy with that machine from a usability perspective. I am a low vision guy and it took all I had to operate it. Further, this particular model lacked a speaker. This meant that if you didn't have cans, you were screwed. Now i'm looking for a replacement unit and would like the recommendations of other users before making my next purchase.

thanks in advance,
Kevin
PS. I sent this earlier from the wrong address. If this is a repeat, I'm sorry.
