The talking control surface program is not part of CakeTalking. It's Tim's
creation, the Mackie Display Reader, and is already available.

You'll be taking a chance but please know that if you can show what jaws can
do when you have sonar producer version 8.5 installed and cake talking also
installed on a computer, then maybe they might take a chance but please
check with the instructor first. Of course, you'll hear something like
check with the disability access center there along with the professor
teaching the class. They can help you navigate through the process but if
you have a laptop, then the question becomes will you be allowed to bring
your laptop? P.S. Do you know if they have a control surface at the main
station at the front row of desks, if so, then there will be a talking
control surface program coming soon that you will be able to use with
caketalking. Version 2 of the software should be coming soon.

The cool thing about it is, the guys at the class, offered to
partition the Mac, install bootcamp, and run Windows side bby side
with Mac for me if I needed it in the Fall. I've got my JAWS CD,
Windows XP CD and CakeTalking and Sonar, but was wondering if I should
bring that stuff or not.
