I lived there from 1978-1990. The transit is very good. I lived in several
areas of the city and other suburbs and was able to get around well with a
combination of transit and cabs. It's a small city and very navigable.
Also, people are used to the presence of blind people because, I suspect, of
the long term presence of the Perkins Institution, home of the Perkins
Braille Writer and other things. You'll be fine if you can find work.

Transportation is apparently very good. Check out the MBTA on the web. I'm
traveling there in two weeks and already have paratransit lined up. Very
responsive. Sorry, not looking for a job, so can't help there.
