Cameron,I don't know anything personally about Boston. But many of my transcription clients have lived and worked and attended school in the Boston metro area and all of them continue to rave about how wonderful it is to live there. The transportation is great, the music scene is thriving (classical, jazz, pop, and folk music, you name it)! Additionally, all of the universities I've dealt with have had excellent student services and accessibility services offices. Even if you're not going to school there, I bet you could get a great gig at one of the 6 N.P.R. radio stations, and the P.B.S. station (WGBH) is one of the most prolific documentary producers in the U.S. If you're looking for voice-over work or a venue for your music, that would be fun! So, from everything I've heard, Boston is great! Where else can you be hit on the head by a home run from Fenway Park? <smile> Only in Boston! (Make sure you drop by the original "Cheers" tavern.)

Cameron, Transportation is apparently very good. Check out the MBTA on the web. I'm traveling there in two weeks and already have paratransit lined up. Very responsive. Sorry, not looking for a job, so can't help there. I'm seriously considering moving to Boston. Perhaps this is sort of ontopic because I'd be looking for music and radio work etc. Does anyone on the list live there or have you spent time there? Any feedback would be nice. Job market, public transport, music scene, etc? Thanks, Cameron. PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
