I have the MIDI 2x2 Anniversary edition. I checked M Audio's support page
and did not find it very useful. If I am looking at the correct
information, the latest driver is a 32-bit driver version 6.1.3. In Device
Manager, I found a driver version of 6.1.7. I did not find any place to
download a firmware update and I am not sure which firmware version my
device is currently running. Also, I have a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. The
drivers I found were only 32-bit. Is that going to matter if I ultimately
find that there is a more recent version to download? Gotta love this
digital music can o' worms!

Which midi sport do you have? The anniv edition? If so there's a firmware
update that resolves some latency issues. I had encountered this a few years
back.
Your motif is probably not damaged, it probably has dust inside the keyboard
bed or perhaps small filaments which are making bad contacts.

This is somewhat long. I will make it as short as I can.
My Yamaha Motif XF6 appears to have developed a short or something in three
or possibly more keys. Sometimes, I hit one of them hard and get little
response, while other times, I will bearly touch a key and it sounds as if I
struck it hard. The Motif is two and a half years old and is no longer
under any sort of warranty. Now for my issue:
I have an Yamaha SY-77 which is now almost 25 years old and has only
required a repair to the disk drive and is in need of a system battery. I
have it connected to Sonar via a MIDI Sport 2x2 box. I have set the input
on all MIDI tracks to the MIDI Sport. When I hit a key on the SY-77, there
is an almost three-second delay before the soft synth I am using produces
sound. Any thoughts on settings I might check and change? This just
supports the common belief that, "They don't make things like they used to."
I love the Motif but the SY-77 has gone through three moves and lots of
performances in its early days and it hasn't died yet!
Any help is greatly appreciated.
