Problem is, for those of us who would like to buy new Max, no new Macintosh
computers will run Windows 7 under Boot Camp anymore. That sucks.

Too bad that you couldn’t have elcaptain installed because it really is a
much more responsive OS indeed there are some glitches like in all systems,
however the typing response in elcaptain in programs like mail, and Pages is
kick ass.
Hopefully the cloner will get compatible with elcaptain soon.

install on Yousemity. There's a trick you can do by altering the
SystemVersion.plist file that full's the Pro Tools installer but not
personally managed to get that to work yet. As for El Capitan, not going
anywhere near that. Just want to get the system up and running and the Mac
partition backed up with Carbon Copy Cloner. Now using Paragon Boot Camp
Backup to backup my bootcamp partition rather than Winclone. The great
thing is that when restoring my Bootcamp partition with this, my Sound Forge
8 authorisation doesn't get hosed but Winclone couldn't restore that
properly or CD Architect so I had to reinstall both as I got an error when
trying to open them. Also, Paragon Boot Camp does secttor by sector backup
and you can do incrimental backups with it although not tried that yet.
Paragon Boot Camp Backup is currently free but would spring some cache for
it if I had to as it works really well. Note: El Capitan doesn't work with
Paragon Boot Camp Backup yet so that's yet another reason not to upgrade the
OS. Unfortunately my Jaws authorisation gets hosed if I use any of the
above-mentioned software so think I shall move to getting a dongle for Jaws
ASAP.

Hi Phil when I was considering upgrading my hard drive to a solid state mid
2011 model with 2.2 quad core at an i7 processor, I was recommended here in
Montreal by Microbytes to go with the kingston hard drive at 480GB.
Currently I have an
: APPLE SSD SM0512G solid state drive installed on my new MacBook pro
2015.The kingston will be fine though, as long as you have it formatted
under the following:
Partition GUID extended journaled.
Hope this helps.
P.S. make sure you have a memory stick with at least 8 GB formatted under
the same specs mentioned above, as you will need to install the OS X using
this device whilst booting up in the recovery mode.Hope this helps.

Already ordered 16 GB of Kingston RAM for it and a black 7200 Western
Digital hard drive which unusually ships with a 5 year warranty. Now
