Yes, I have them for my studio. I actually have 2 layers so the window is double dead. It's great!

Thanks,

Yes, those theatric curtains work great. Have known a few studios to use those alongwith the mirror you had mentioned. mirror always works well for a very live surface so can really get a variety that way. Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Christer" <christer.christer@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Well, what about a heavier curtain, like a 'blackout' one?
You know, something that acts as a curtain but also as insulation?

A rehearsal studio I used to work in had 18 feet tall mirrors at one end, so a band could check out how they looked whilst performing, and when the mirror wasn't required a thick curtain was simply drawn across?

I've tried a curtain but it doesn't work. I know that i must use something with mass, something thick and heavy to block the sound from comming in and going out but i can't think of something temporary enough that i can put up and break down without breaking my back.

What about a curtain you can just pull over?

Hi this is a bit off topic but it's sound related. I have a room that i'm
converting in to a recording booth. Problem is that the room has a big
window that opens on the garden. I whant to do something to make the room
more sound prove on the windows side but it must be temporary as i stil want
to use and open the window from time to time. I know the best would be to
break out the window and build a wall but that's not a option as i'm renting
the place. Would appriciate any suggestions.
