Chris i use rugs in my control room and it works great but it all depends what you use the room for and how you want the sound to react in it. E.g. In my control room i have a mixture of absorping, reflecting and defusing materials because i don't want the room completely dry and dead. If you have the money go for the pro acoustic treetment but if you have a little time and energy rather do some reading on the net, try some different materials in different places and listen to the results. Do some careful budgeting and planning though because if done wrong this can be much more expensive than necesery. -original message- Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Room acoustics From: Chris Smart <chris_s@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: 18/01/2011 20:33 At 12:57 PM 1/18/2011, you wrote: >Are you talking about those thick pieces of carpet that go on the >walls? Similar to that yes. More like a rug that you would put in front of a fireplace because it's thick and it looks nice too. PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
