Open Sonar. Then press alt plus O for options followed by U for audio options.
You should be on the tab where you can check the options that are available
for playback. Check that your sound card is the default sound card in that
list. If not then you may need to set it there for playback and recording.
Once done explore the other tabs in the audio options dialog box and make sure
in the drivers tab that drivers for your sound card are checked.

in my room shorted out and it knocked sonar off-line. This has never
