ezDrummer is easier to get premixed sounds from and has an easier to use
interface with easier but less options for making your drums.
SD on the other hand has more of a "raw" sound that you can mix and process as
you choose to, with plenty of options and configuration possibilities.
Unfortunately ezD2 is not really accessible, while sd2 is with Phil's hsc set.
EzD1 is accessible, but you'd be hardpressed to find a copy of it.

Can anyone shed some light on the differences in either sound or
usability (including accessibility and general ease of use) between
superior drummer 2 and eZ Drummer 2?
I'm definately a hobbiest when it comes to music making, so would like
something that sounds good and offers e decent number of style choices,
but not sure I need the full tweakability of superior drummer. However,
if it just sounds miles better than EZDrummer, or is more accessible, or
easier to use in some other way, then it is probably worth the more
expensive price tag!
