BTW: Sound fonts are now a very old sampler format (at least 15 years old). The 
only real reason to use them is because there are a lot of old instruments 
floating around the net in SF format. However, actually using them in SF format 
isn't necessarily a good idea. I'm not entirely surprised that Cakewalk isn't 
trying to hard to support sound font playback going forward. I think that they 
should, but that's probably not too far from asking them about why they haven't 
updated that direct support for the Sound Blaster cards that was in Sonar a few 
years back. Practically no one uses that stuff anymore.

Wow, Phil,
     This is very interesting news.  Might convince me to do some research in 
the JSonar world once I've gotten a decent grasp on the way things work with 
CakeTalking.
     I'm still quite new to this game, but Sound Fonts are becoming very 
intriguing to me.  If you don't mind me asking, what utility do you use to 
convert to SFZ format?
