The MusicXPC was ordered through Guitar Center.

Wow. I'd never heard of MusicXPC. Now I know why.

For $2,799, you can have a system built around a Core 2 quad core processor,
DDR2 memory, and still using a front-side bus. Oh, and Windows XP. That is
extremely out of date, and probably not worth half what they're asking. Even
their dual processor system uses only DDR800. If they're going to charge
prices like that, they should at least use current tech.

PC Audio Labs is better for the same money. Specs to price are good. They
don't list the manufacturer of some components, though. For example, I
really hope they use Seagate enterprise class drives, and not retail/one
year warranty junk. I'd suggest them over this MusicXPC place, any day,
though.

DD sells customized workstations from ADK. If you didn't buy from DD,
though, I'd rather see you get a system from someone like Jim Roseberry's
company.

        Hi, it's Annabelle
Something's happening that doesn't seem right. I go to record in
Sonar, and after a few minutes of recording, the whole machine goes to a
blue screen and shuts down then restarts itself. After restarting, it gives
me the Microsoft Windows Error. What the heck is up with that? This hasn't
happened until now, but it seems to happen around the same time twice a
year, in the summer and in the winter. What do I do next? I'm trying to
invest in a desktop, but now it's a tossup between whether I want to have
the MusicXPC S series, or the PC Audio Labs Rock Box. It seems the one at PC
Audio Labs is cheaper than the one at MusicXPC. What's up with that? Could
it be that because MusicXPC is based in Canada, everything's more expensive
there?
