Was the vocal just coming in a single input, the right side of a
left/right pair of inputs?

What are you using for your interface? Sometimes you have to choose
either the left or right inputs. Sometimes when I tell sonar to use a
stereo input, it pans to one side or the other, but if I use just the
left input, it comes out in both speakers. Check your inputs and
outputs.
