Hi Kylee,

I have had a M-audio fw 44-10 for the past two years and its a good card. Like yourself I find the M-audio control panel completely inaccessible with jaws but once I got it set up with some sighted help, I've had no need to change it. I believe there are software and firmware updtates to be had but I'll do that when I need to. However, I'm told that ederol sound cards are much more accessible.

Hi, all

I'm new round here, but I must admit I find my MAudio card just about
impossible to configure. I've got a USB Omnistudio and its software seems
completely unreachable to me, not to mention inaccessible. When I try to go
in there, JFW tells me nothing at all. How do you all manage it, please?

Cheers

Kylee

Hi Raymond as I stated in an earlier poste, you can still use your
soundblaster card to run Jaws, and get yourself a higher end card for your
audio needs. There's no need to take out the soundblaster at all. Infact
if you have the bucks go for a firewire card from M-audio. there's the
Firewire 44-10, Firewire 1814, or the new Project Mix, which is a serfice
controler. I've got one, and I couldn't have picked a better card. The
audio quality is fantastic, and my clients have been so impressed with its
results.

So if you've got the extra cash, really consider the firewire series from
M-audio, you wouldn't even need to open up your PC at all, simply plug the
card in to your firewire port of your Pc, and you'll be set. Of course
there's always configuring to do, but that's with everything.
