You'll have to solo each MIDI track and route it into an audio in and make a recording one at a time. Do you understand? If, for example, you have all your MIDI tracks routed to Outs 1&2, you have to solo one track and select both the MIDI and audio track, then export to .wav. then, when you've made each of these individual recordings, you have to reimport them into a new project and play them back as audio tracks. Remember that you won't be able to edit any MIDI events because there won't be any MIDI events anymore. Follow? At best, that has four outs, and that's only if you planned for them. So, the only way you can create 16 audio tracks is to solo each MIDI and audio track one at a time and bounce to .wav. So, freezing tracks is not the way to go. How do I do this if the "Freeze Track", "Unfreeze Track", "Quick Freeze Track", and "Quick Unfreeze Track" options are always marked as "Unavailable? _____ From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kevin Gibbs Sent: Friday, July 09, 2010 5:19 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: help with freezing tracks Sounds like you have all you need. If a track is frozen and you arrow down to freeze track, it will say not available because it as already been frozen. The same applies if you arrow down to unfreeze track, if the track is already unfrozen if will say unfreeze track not available. I've heard that on some of the latest computers there is no need to freeze tracks as the Super dooper booster computers can cope with loads of softsynth and plugins without any drop out. Well, back to my dear old faithful who's definitely seen better days. I wouldn't swop, I mean, She's a good cook, and takes care of my 14 kids ha ha. Try adding a new audio track and copy the newly recorded audio to that new blank audio track. Save the project and then unfreeze the original audio track. This should in theory retain the new audio and restored the frozen track. I froze my background vocals tracks then saved the project. Today I armed the tracks recorded some new material into the tracks before unfreezing them. I saved everything. It shows up no problem as long as I don't unfreeze the tracks. If I unfreeze it reverts back to what I did before I made changes today. What should I do?
