Dave,I don't think Bardia asked specifically for a USb connected Cassette player. But I suggested to him that solution since I know that he doesn't use any hardware mixer and right now waiting to get a CakeTalking and Sonar software. But I think you're right about buying an cassette player and connect it into a mixer.

Erik, Oh. I wasn't aware that he was wanting a direct connection to USB. Thatseems very expensive, when a simple audio line signal would provide the samelevel of quality.I use a Sony dual cassette deck that I purchased used through E-Bay for $40that works very well, and connect directly to my Delta via a mixer. Bardia det finns en kassettspelare på Kjell & co för ca 500 kronor som du kan koppla direkt in i din dator via USB. I've had suggestions before of air tight dark places and also led cabinets, but I don't have any of those, the best I had up to now was a wooden drawer far away from any magnetic or electrical devices. It's dark but I think it fails on the air tight part. -----Original Message-----From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf of Chris Smart Sent: Tuesday, December 14, 2010 8:08 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Demagnetizing a Microcassette Recorder If it's valuable, monetarily, sentimentally etc. you might want to pay someone to professionally do their best at restoring the contents. Otherwise, mini cassette was never a format known for fidelity - maybe good for recording classroom lectures but that's about it.
