Dave,

Thank you for that information, I didn't really think of that. I will write to Bardia tomorrow and explain what you just told me.

Regards,
Erik

erik,

Yes, and any sound card or audio card will have a line in jack, even the
on-board types, so a mixer is not even necessary.

Dave,
I don't think Bardia asked specifically for a USb connected Cassette player.
But I suggested to him that solution since I know that he doesn't use any
hardware mixer and right now waiting to get a CakeTalking and Sonar
software.
But I think you're right about buying an cassette player and connect it into
a mixer.

Erik

Erik,

Oh. I wasn't aware that he was wanting a direct connection to USB. That
seems very expensive, when a simple audio line signal would provide the
same
level of quality.

I use a Sony dual cassette deck that I purchased used through E-Bay for
$40
that works very well, and connect directly to my Delta via a mixer.

Hi Bardia,

To all you listers I will take this in swedish
with Bardia.

Bardia det finns en kassettspelare på Kjell & co för ca 500 kronor som du
kan koppla direkt in i din dator via USB.

Are you asking what cassette player to use? Do not understand some of
the
words you are using.

Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Demagnetizing a Microcassette Recorder

I have about 30 or so quarter inch reel to reel tapes and I'm worried
about
them going bad, any suggestions for the best way and place to store
them?
I've had suggestions before of air tight dark places and also led
cabinets,
but I don't have any of those, the best I had up to now was a wooden
drawer
far away from any magnetic or electrical devices. It's dark but I think
it
fails on the air tight part.

If it's valuable, monetarily, sentimentally etc. you might want to
pay someone to professionally do their best at restoring the
contents. Otherwise, mini cassette was never a format known for
fidelity - maybe good for recording classroom lectures but that's
about it.
