Sorry you and Len don't have access to my piano teacher. She came to my
home
once a month for a one-hour lesson and it was very well done. She had
never
taught a blind student before but quickly came up with a sensible plan.
She referred me to a web site of teachers a couple weeks ago for other
private lessons, so here's the site:

At one time, I worked with some guy out of Illinois who stated he
works with the blind over the phone. His prices were over the top for
me so only worked with him for about a month. My schedule couldn't
accomodate his schedule and one week I had to cancel because I just
felt I didn't get enough practice time in and he decided to put me on
a schedule at his convenience. The guy was way too into himself and
his career, always gloating about his needs and not his students so I
quit.
Got to tell you though, I did learn quite a bit from him in three
lessons and I freaked him out when I started playing a piece he didn't
even ask me to work on which was related to the topic he was
instructing me at the time.
He, unfortunately, did not believe in keeping scales as the basis,
just learning the scales for basic learning of the 12 keys; no scale
exercises, only chord progressions in those keys.
I, of course, do believe in the scale system, since it is also
fundamental for everything you do in music.

work with you through an established system, conservatory, Suzuki,
