I actually use Gold Wave because I'm cheap and it's fine for basic editing of a
wave file. It's also quite accessible without scripts although they do exist.
For more advanced mastering outside Sonar, I have heard good things about Sound
Forge but never really used it. It didn't seem to have a good pop and click
eliminator like Audition for transferring vinyl. That would Bob a good topic
here; Sound Forge VS. Audition.
Bob.

tks, Bob. Is Sound Forge that much more useful than just using sonar?

Also, you may decide to do further editing of your mono or stereo mixdown
wave file in another sound editor. I do all my last minute fades and trimming
outside Sonar.

When you export the tracks, you should only have the areas selected that
contain audio in them. For example, if the tracks end at bar 100, then only
select up to bar 100.

I think this is a simple question but I haven't figured it out. When I
mix down a project and export it to a CD it continues well after the end of the
song. How do I set the end of the project closer to the end of the music. Is
this done after I get all the tracks in the project bounced to a mix?

        Tom, tks
