OK, here are a couple of ideas that may or may not help.
If audio quality with same audio interface was once good but now is horrible,
try the following:
Open your project in SONAR.
ALT+O for Options
Press down arrow until you reach Audio Options and press ENTER
Make sure that the Playback Timing Master and Record Master are using the
drivers for your preferred audio interface.
Also, if you had been using the Driver Mode of ASIO, check that setting under
the Advanced tab in that Audio dialog. Perhaps it somehow was changed to
another driver mode.
