Usually, noise gates have three parameters. Threshold, which sets
the point at which the gate opens and closes, attack time, which
sets how fast the gate closes, and release time which sets how fast
the gate opens again.
Have you tried reading the online help for the gate that comes with
Sonar? Maybe start there.
