Clear DayCool, thanks Steve and glad i'm not the only one to experience this.
Am sure it can be very tempromental on occasion. Perhaps i had forgotten to
press F6 though thought i did. one of those things that need to make a habbit
to do all the time. Thanks again. Dave

  Hi Dave,

This sometimes happens, I too have experienced this.
try first pressing F6 to refresh the screen then choosing the mode you wish
to use to record, this sometimes works.

I think Sonar sometimes is temperamental with recording, I've had situations
where when I step record on one track, then go to step record on another, the
new destination track doesn't always automatically move.
When using step record, I always tab to destination track just to check it's
the right one.

Hello, Yes, i could delete it but really just interested why I am not able
to record over it. normally i can so hoping someone knew of some other variable
that may not let me do this. Deleting will do the trick for a work around but
figure there must be something not checked that won't allow the track to be
rerecorded on. thanks

Do you want to hear the previous take?

      If not, delete it...

        Hi Friends,
I recently opened up a project and after recording on track one, I
decided to record over it. I put the system in the correct mode for rerecording
a track but still appears to be doing sound on sound as still hear the previous
track. Is there something else that I could have missed. Have recorded over a
track before with no problem when doing exact thing but obviously something
must be different. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Dave
